The annual influenza (flu) vaccine is one of the most effective ways to protect against the flu: a highly contagious respiratory illness that can lead to serious complications.
Each year, the flu virus changes, which is why annual vaccination is recommended to provide protection against the most current circulating strains.
Getting your flu shot can:
Reduce your risk of getting sick with influenza
Lower the severity of symptoms if you do catch the flu

The flu vaccine is recommended for everyone, but it is especially important for:
Older adults (65+)
Young children
Pregnant women

All Queensland residents 6 months of age or older can access influenza vaccine for free in 2026 under this Queensland government funded program. The program is available to all Queensland residents, regardless of Medicare eligibility.
The 2026 Free Flu Vaccination Program runs to 30 September 2026.
*Flu vaccinations are FREE and appointments will be BULK BILLED for the flu vaccination ONLY. Any other patient needs will be charged at our standard consultation rates.
