Pre-employment medicals are very useful in minimizing the incidence and the severity of injuries in your workplace. The medicals also help companies to optimise employment of appropriate staff.
Many insurance companies require a compulsory full medical examination prior to granting life and health insurance policies.
We provide Taxi / commercial driving medicals to ensure that a commercial driver is compliant with contemporaneous commercial driving regulations.
We also offer Instant Drug and Alcohol Screening as part of pre-employment medicals. This is done under supervision and the results are available in about 2 minutes.
DRUGCHECK® NXSTEP Urine Drug Screen checks for THC 50 (marijuana), Methamphetamines 300 (ice, ecstasy), Amphetamines 300 (speed), Opiates (OPI 300 and OPI 2000), Cocaine 300, Benzodiazepines 200 (minor tranquiliser medications) and Alcohol.
Some of our clinics are also equipped with a dedicated Audiometry booth with the right Audiometry testing equipment to conduct high quality hearing test. The hearing testing environment conforms to the strict Australian statutory requirement of AS / NZS 1269.4: 2005.
Our medical personnel are also trained to provide quality spirometry testing (to assess lung function) which is an essential part of many pre-employment medicals.
Our spirometry service at Underwood branch is approved by the government and registered under the Coal Mine Workers’ Health Scheme. Queensland Government – Resources Safety & Health Queensland (RSHQ) – Spirometry Registration Number is P0005852.
Some of our doctors are registered with Resources Safety and Health Queensland (formerly known as Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy of Queensland) and accredited to perform Coal Board Mining Medical, as part of Coal Mine Workers’ Health Scheme.
Our doctors who are registered and accredited with Resources Safety and Health Queensland, also perform Mineral Mines and Quarries respiratory health surveillance for non-Coal mine workers involved in other mining or quarry activities.
We are one of the few medical practices where some of our doctors with diving interest have undertaken advanced and specialised medical training to be accredited to perform BOTH Recreational (AS4005.1) and Occupational DIVING MEDICALS (AS/NZS 2299.1).
We also have Designated Aviation Medical Examiners (DAME) to perform all classes of AVIATION MEDICALS (Class I, II and III).
