Dr. Leon Tang graduated from the University of Queensland in 2014. After working in Queensland hospitals for 3 years, Dr Tang pursued his lifelong dream and became a General Practitioner to provide quality and comprehensive healthcare in local communities. Dr Tang has since worked in several clinics throughout Queensland and Victoria for the past 7 years.

Dr Tang is accredited to perform Western acupuncture and so he is able to provide care from both a Western and Chinese medicine point of view. Dr Tang is a part of the Fellowship of Australian Medical Acupuncture College (FAMAC). Dr Tang is very passionate about treating musculoskeletal injuries and painful conditions with acupuncture.

Dr Tang is aligned with the Mater Mothers’ shared care program. As a recent father himself, he understands the antenatal journey and is able to relate personally to patients about the antenatal care process. Dr Tang is qualified to provide women’s health services such as insertions of Implanons and intrauterine devices, as well as aid in family planning.

Dr Tang has an interest in paediatric medicine and has completed a diploma of children’s medicine. He is particularly interested in the management of eczema.

Dr Tang has work experience in rural towns of Australia which have high incidences of skin cancer. He is skilled in performing skin checks, skin cancer excisions and minor skin surgeries.

Furthermore, Dr Tang has a variety of knowledge in many other areas of General Practice such as mental health, chronic disease management (diabetes, asthma etc.), aged care and Aboriginal health.

Dr Tang’s friendly and approachable personality makes people of all ages feel welcomed. His patient and understanding nature allows him to provide comprehensive and efficient care.

Dr Tang comes from Malaysia and can speak English and Mandarin. He is a family man and enjoys spending time with his wife and son. In his spare time, he enjoys sports and gardening.
