Medical experts have studied COVID-19 vaccines to make sure they are safe.
Most side effects of COVID-19 vaccines are mild and usually disappear quickly. Side effects may include a sore / swollen arm, transient headache, transient joint pain / muscle ache, transient fever, transient tiredness or transient fever. Other side effects include nausea and reactive lymph node swelling. As with any vaccine or medicine, there may be rare and/or unknown side effects.
To help manage pain and swelling, a cold compress or icepack wrapped in a cloth can be used on the injection site. Paracetamol and ibuprofen are not routinely recommended to be taken post COVID-19 vaccination. However, they can be taken to alleviate pain and swelling adverse events if required.
We shall go through a consent process, informing you the potential risks of the COVID-19 vaccination and we shall proceed with the vaccination only when you are comfortable to do so.

Vaccines train a person’s immune system to recognise and clear out germs (bacteria and viruses) that can cause serious illness. They strengthen your immune system by training it to recognise and fight against specific germs.
Vaccines contain either killed or weakened versions of the virus that causes the disease or a small part of it, such as a protein or nucleic acid. When you get a vaccine, your immune system recognises these as foreign. It responds by creating memory cells and antibodies that protect you against future infection.
