Dr Kavitha Vedharathnam is an understanding and experienced Doctor at Cannon Hill. She graduated in India in 2003 and migrated to Australia in 2005 and shortly after, she passed the relevant Australian medical board examinations.

She completed her residency years at Redland Hospital and entered her GP training program under the then CSQTC in 2010.

Kavitha’s GP training was based in Toowoomba where she worked at 3 different practices (including Carbal Medical Centre, an Aboriginal medical service). Concurrently, whilst working in Toowoomba, she competed a Diploma in Child Health from Westmead, Sydney.

She moved back to Redlands in 2013 and completed her GP training partly at Redland Hospital Emergency as an extension and at Thornlands surgery. She soon acquired her FRACGP specialist qualification and continue to work in the Brisbane Bay side.

Kavitha is interested in all aspects of GP practice, including chronic health care, child health and women’s health. She does Implanon insertion, basic skin procedures and she has also completed a certificate course in Dermatoscopy. She has also completed the Mater Mother’s Hospital GP Maternity Shared Care Alignment Program, offering quality antenatal care.
