Emmi Smith is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutritionist who is passionate about helping her clients achieve their health and wellbeing goals. Emmi has completed both a Master of Dietetics Studies and a Bachelor of Health Science with a major in Nutrition. Emmi has extensive experience working in private practice and hospital settings helping patients in a range of areas including weight management, diabetes, cholesterol management, sports nutrition, women’s health and gastrointestinal disorders.
Emmi keeps up-to-date with scientific literature and uses evidenced-based guidelines to inform her practice. However, she also appreciates that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to health, and provides each of her clients with individualised advice. Emmi does not promote restrictive eating; instead she focuses on teaching and motivating her clients to live a healthy, happy lifestyle by making small sustainable changes that can easily become new habits.
Emmi’s professional interest areas include food allergies and intolerances, women’s health and diabetes management. Emmi is also passionate about contributing to nutrition and dietetics research and recently completed a study investigating the nutritional status, dietary intake and quality of life of patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension. Emmi has presented her research at several events including the Dietitians Association of Australia national conference.
